Brothers and sisters, dear friends!
Since 1993, as the Apostolic Church congregation in Banská Bystrica, we have moved through eight different locations. Most of these moves were due to decisions made by the landlords.
Several years ago, God began to speak to us in various ways about having our own space. He said:
“I am giving you a building that will meet the needs of the church.”
Those needs are to reach, motivate, inspire, and build disciples who will be released into ministry not only in Banská Bystrica, but throughout central Slovakia.
That was the beginning of the journey toward acquiring our own church building. The new church building will serve not only our local congregation, but also other Apostolic Church congregations in central Slovakia, as well as the residents of Banská Bystrica—especially in the Radvaň district, where the property is located.
We realize that the process of renovating a building of this type is far more complex than the following simplified outline in brief bullet points. However, we would like to present to you the challenges that lie ahead of us.
In the first phase, by God’s grace, we invested 125,000 EUR in:
purchasing the former heat exchange station building located in the Radvaň housing estate in Banská Bystrica, with a total area of 303 square meters,
acquiring the land beneath the building, and
completing the full project documentation.
After the renovation, the church will have 396 square meters at its disposal, as the building’s height allows for a two-story layout.
These days, we face the second phase, which involves:
obtaining the building permit (95% prepared),
renovating the roof, which is in a critical condition (work can begin immediately without the building permit, as allowed by law), and
completing the shell construction.
We estimate the costs associated with the second phase to be 150,000 EUR.
The third phase includes:
completing the interior renovation
and the final approval inspection (occupancy permit).
We estimate the costs associated with the third phase at 170,000 EUR.
In total, the entire new church building project will require approximately 320,000 EUR.
We are grateful for God’s extraordinary guidance and provision that our congregation is experiencing these days, evidenced by acquiring the property into our ownership without any loan burden. Our gratitude also goes to each of you who have generously supported us from the heart.
